Education

Maternal Healthcare

Our Maternal and Child Health Clinic serves over 300,000 people, delivering essential services like antenatal care, safe births, vaccinations, and emergency referrals.

With mobile health clinics reaching remote areas, we’re saving lives and ensuring every mother and baby receives the care they deserve.

Kworo Sonic Healthcare Foundation Hospital

Opening this year in Agago, the Kworo Sonic Healthcare Foundation Hospital is a collaborative effort with Sonic Healthcare Foundation and Barbara May Foundation.

This 42-bed maternity hospital will address one of the world’s highest rates of maternal and infant mortality, providing free maternal healthcare to vulnerable women and girls. Serving a population of over 800,000, it will transform health outcomes and offer hope for generations to come.

  • Empowering Franka: A Second Chance at Education

    After enduring violence and mistreatment in an abusive relationship, Alimo-can Franka, an 18-year-old mother, found hope at Nwoya Girls Academy. As one of Te-Kworo Foundation’s boarding schools, the academy gave Franka the opportunity to resume her education while caring for her child. Today, she is the school’s head girl, excelling academically, building her leadership skills, and dreaming of becoming a nurse. Franka’s story is a testament to the transformative power of education.

  • Daisy’s Journey: Building a Future Through Vocational Training

    Atimango Dorcus Daisy, 20, turned her passion for catering into a thriving business after graduating from Pader Girls Academy’s vocational training program. With skills in cooking and baking, along with a start-up kit provided by Te-Kworo Foundation, Daisy opened her own restaurant in Kitgum’s Bus Park. Now, she’s not only supporting herself but also planning to help her family. Her story shows how vocational training equips women with the tools to succeed and break cycles of poverty.

  • Safe Births for Mercy: Maternal Care That Saves Lives

    Mercy faced life-threatening complications during childbirth in a remote Ugandan village. Thanks to Te-Kworo Foundation’s maternal health clinic and its emergency ambulance service, both Mercy and her baby survived. The clinic, serving over 1,000 women annually, provides critical services like antenatal care, safe deliveries, and postnatal support. Mercy’s story highlights the life-saving impact of accessible healthcare for vulnerable mothers and babies.
