Education at Te-Kworo Foundation

Te-Kworo Foundation is committed to providing vulnerable girls in northern Uganda with access to quality education, creating opportunities for brighter futures. Many of these girls face barriers such as extreme poverty, early marriage, social stigmas, or caring for their own babies.

Our three boarding schools in Pader, Kitgum, and Nwoya offer safe, supportive environments where girls can focus on their education and personal growth.

Children living in poverty face countless barriers to education, but the stakes are especially high for girls.

By addressing these challenges, our schools are creating pathways for thousands of girls to stay in school, equipping them with the skills and confidence to build better lives.

A Unique Approach to Education

Boarding Schools for Every Girl
Our boarding schools provide a safe space for girls to learn, grow, and thrive. Each campus offers unique programs tailored to the needs of our students.

Pader Campus
Focuses on academic excellence and vocational training.

Kitgum Campus
Provides secondary education and prepares girls for higher learning or employment.

Nwoya Campus
Offers a specialized program for young mothers, including a flexible curriculum to accommodate mothers’ routines and on-site childcare facilities, so mothers can focus on their studies.

Vocational Training Program

For students who cannot pursue higher education, our Vocational Training Program equips them with practical skills in tailoring, hairdressing, catering, and more. These livelihood opportunities empower girls to start small businesses or find employment, protecting them from early marriage and exploitation.

“I was stranded at home with no other option left… but I still wanted to study. I want to go further ahead and to be somebody. I want to be a teacher or a nurse, to be responsible for other women.”
