Education at Te-Kworo Foundation
Te-Kworo Foundation is committed to providing vulnerable girls in northern Uganda with access to quality education, creating opportunities for brighter futures. Many of these girls face barriers such as extreme poverty, early marriage, social stigmas, or caring for their own babies.
Our three boarding schools in Pader, Kitgum, and Nwoya offer safe, supportive environments where girls can focus on their education and personal growth.
Since our founding, we’ve supported approximately:
3,000+ secondary school graduates to date.
700+ students enrolled at Kworo High School per year.
1 specialised program for young mothers at our Nwoya campus.
Children living in poverty face countless barriers to education, but the stakes are especially high for girls.
By addressing these challenges, our schools are creating pathways for thousands of girls to stay in school, equipping them with the skills and confidence to build better lives.
A Unique Approach to Education
Boarding Schools for Every Girl
Our boarding schools provide a safe space for girls to learn, grow, and thrive. Each campus offers unique programs tailored to the needs of our students.
Pader Campus
The first school in Uganda to welcome child mothers, it has since grown to become our largest campus, now serving more than 800 students from Senior 1 to Senior 6 (equivalent to Grades 7-12). The school is committed to academic excellence and equipping girls with the practical skills and knowledge they need to achieve lasting independence.
Kitgum Campus
A school serving students from Senior 1 to Senior 4 (equivalent to Grades 7-10), with particular care for young mothers. On-site childcare ensures that students with babies can focus on their studies, knowing their children are cared for right beside them.
Nwoya Campus
A nurturing space providing vocational education for very vulnerable girls, many of whom have never had the chance to begin secondary school. Students are trained in tailoring or hairdressing, gaining practical skills to secure employment and build a future.
Vocational Training Program
For students who cannot pursue higher education, our Vocational Training Program equips them with practical skills in tailoring, hairdressing, catering, and more. These livelihood opportunities empower girls to start small businesses or find employment, protecting them from early marriage and exploitation.

“I was stranded at home with no other option left… but I still wanted to study. I want to go further ahead and to be somebody. I want to be a teacher or a nurse, to be responsible for other women.”
– Soya, Student
