A New Beginning: Gladys' Journey from Despair to Empowerment

I passed my primary exams with excellent results, but I could not continue to secondary school because my parents could not afford my school fees. I am one of 11 children. I had to drop out of school, and while I was at home, I engaged in crop production, thinking I could earn money to pay my own fees. However, it became impossible as the crops were completely destroyed by drought. I gave up all hope of going back to school.

I saw no hope for my future and was considering early marriage, as it seemed like my next alternative. But I was scared of ending up like my parents, struggling to take care of us.

In 2023, I became one of the beneficiaries of vocational skills training under Te-Kworo Foundation.

I was enrolled in a one-year course in tailoring and garment cutting. During the year, I gained knowledge and skills, made friends who shared the same challenges, and grew spiritually. Every day, we had morning devotions around the Word of God, which became a source of comfort for me.

The opportunity to study under the sponsorship of Te-Kworo Foundation has changed my life. After completing the course, I started making clothes for people using a hired sewing machine. Within seven months, I had saved enough money to purchase my own.

With my machine, I can earn more money, and I am very happy because I am able to help support my family.

If I save enough money, I will go back to school at another level to gain more skills and knowledge.

I am very grateful for the support I have received. It has changed my life and paved the way for my future. I pray that God richly rewards all the supporters of Te-Kworo Foundation.
